Minority Report

Canada has had another federal election with the result of another minority government.

Many Canadians wonder why our elections don't have the same 'feel' or 'hype' as the US elections.

They ask - "Where is our Obama?"

Canada doesn't need an Obama right now.

We don't need the same political or social changes that are overdue in the USA.

If ever the the time came when Canada did need someone like Obama it would mean that we would have to go through decades of economic and social turmoil that has been brewing in the USA since their constitution was signed.

You can avoid reaching for the light at the end of the tunnel, by not getting into a tunnel in the first place.

Canadians may look up towards leaders like Obama as an ideal for our country.

I think that leaders like Obama look towards the Citizens of Canada as the ideal for their country.

I think the reason people were looking for the Canadian version of Obama was the lack of "personality" shared between all of the Canadian political leaders.

(he only standout was Layton. And many people dismiss him and his party as left-wing socialist nutcases.)

They all made people hoping for another Mulroney or Chretien....
